The Mission of the Vincennes University Shake Library is to develop and present innovative programs, to provide access to physical and online library resources, and to engage in teaching and learning in order to equip students with the tools they need to be successful.
Located on VU's Vincennes Campus in the Learning Resource Center, Shake Library serves VU students, faculty, staff, and people from the surrounding communities. We provide research help to all, plus access to a wide selection of print and online sources. Our space includes a coffee shop, private and group study spaces, computer stations, and more!
Faculty may request specialized research guidance sessions for their classes from one of our dedicated liaison librarians as well as place specific items on reserve for class use.
See our Policies and Services pages for more details.
Students, faculty, and staff can access the library's online resources from off-campus locations by signing into their VUX account. Read more about Off-Campus Access.
The Shake Learning Resource Center is named after Curtis Grover Shake (1887-1978), Knox County native, Vincennes University alumnus, attorney, historian, author, and chief justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. He also served as presiding judge for one of the U.S. Military Tribunals held in Nuremburg, Germany, after the Second World War.
