Library Policies: Noise Policy

Shake Learning Resources Center strives to provide all students with an environment that is conducive to learning and supportive of their educational needs.   

• The first floor is considered an active floor and conversations, group study, and such noise is allowed as long as it is kept at an appropriate level.  Staff may, at their discretion, ask patrons to reduce noise level if this is abused.

• The second floor of the library is designated as Quiet Study Area and communication outside of group study rooms should be kept at a whisper.

• The second floor has a quiet study room where no noise is allowed for those needing absolute silence.

• Headphones are available for purchase at the Library Information Desk if a patron needs to listen to educational resources online.
